We talk about the benefits of our individually handcrafted window frames as so much dedication and passion goes beyond it. However, we’re not stopping there—let’s shine a light on the exceptional standard of our high-quality glazing.
At EcosSky, we want to emphasize that not all glazing is created equal. Our commitment is to ensure that you receive nothing short of the absolute best when you choose EcoSky for your project.
Our minimum standard is a SELECTIVE glass from both sides , also known as low-emissivity (low-e) glass, is a type of glass that has a thin, transparent coating applied to its surface. This coating is designed to reflect heat while allowing visible light to pass through. When used in triple glazing, which involves three layers of glass separated by argon-filled spaces, selective glass offers several benefits:
- Improved Energy Efficiency:
- Selective glass helps to minimize heat transfer between the interior and exterior of a building. It reflects a significant portion of the infrared radiation, which is responsible for heat loss or gain.
- The low-emissivity coating helps maintain a more consistent indoor temperature, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling. This results in energy savings and lower utility bills.
- Enhanced Thermal Insulation:
- In a triple glazing system, the combination of multiple glass layers and selective glass with low-e coatings provides enhanced thermal insulation.
- Reduced Condensation:
- The improved insulation properties with selective glass help reduce the likelihood of condensation on the interior surface of the glass. Condensation can lead to issues like mold growth and damage to window frames.
- UV Radiation Control:
- Selective glass can block a significant portion of harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation while still allowing visible light to pass through. This helps protect furnishings, artwork, and other interior elements from fading or damage caused by prolonged exposure to UV rays.
- Acoustic Insulation:
- While the primary purpose of selective glass is related to thermal performance, the additional layers in triple glazing can contribute to improved acoustic insulation. This is beneficial in reducing external noise, creating a more comfortable and quiet indoor environment.
- Environmental Impact:
- By improving energy efficiency, our glazing with selective glass contributes to a reduction in overall energy consumption. This is environmentally beneficial, as it helps decrease the carbon footprint associated with heating and cooling buildings.
- Comfort and Well-being:
- The consistent indoor temperature provided by Eco Sky with selective glass contribute to increased comfort and well-being for occupants. This can result in a more pleasant living or working environment.
